Understanding the Struggle

When the distance creeps in between us and our teenage child we can start to feel a sense of bewilderment, shock and panic at what can seem like a sudden loss of connection. As an experienced Teen and Parent Coach with over 20 years of experience, I’ve worked with plenty of parents who have shared with me their deep concerns about this alarming shift in family life.  It can seem like the beginning of the end, a downward trajectory from here on in, but in fact this is the time to learn some new skills as a parent, a new approach and to start the adventure of building the new adult relationship with your child that will serve you all lifelong

Outdated Parenting Models: The Need for Change

Traditional ‘Command & Control’ and ‘Reward & Punishment’ models fall woefully short these days. There was a time when perhaps these worked better but now they are causing us all kinds of difficulties, undermining our children’s development and damaging the parent-child relationship. It’s time to take a real close look at our parenting styles, get real about how ineffective some of these out-dated approaches are, for everyone in the family, and embrace more skilful and more compassionate methods for truly magnificent results.

Transformative Parenting: Building a Stronger Bond

To help parents with this transition from parenting a child who might do what they’re told to a teen who won’t, I’ve created a guide which will help you rebuild your relationship with your teen through a mixture of conceptual leaps and practical strategies. By committing to these changes, you will be able to cultivate a more open, trusting, and supportive relationship and give yourself and your teen what you really need to become a happier, more successful and more fulfilled family.

The guide will take you through 3 essential components for empowering your relationship with your teen in order to support them in their own self-development and educational and life journeys.

In the guide you’ll see how important it is just spending regular time together with your teen and how to interact more skilfully with your child so that you don’t get cold shouldered, ignored or stormed out on.  We’ll also look at the incredible benefits of being able to listen to them and ask the right questions as well as the parent mindset required to hold your teen in the highest regards and get the best out of them in doing so.

For a deeper dive into these strategies and more, download our comprehensive guide, "How to Win Back Your Teen When They're Pushing You Away." This guide will offer you clear, practical steps and golden insights to help you navigate this challenging age and stage and turn it into a grand adventure and potentially the most rewarding time in your parenting journey.
